About Bharat Population
Bharat Population is an independent population and Census information website focused on making demographic data for India easier to explore and understand.
Our goal is to organise population information by administrative level so users can move from India-wide data to States, Districts, Sub-Districts, Cities, Towns and Villages in a clear and structured way.

Our Data Approach
Bharat Population keeps different Census years separate. This helps prevent older population figures from being confused with newer Census data.
For example, Census 2011 records can remain available as previous official Census data while Census 2027 is shown as the current Census focus. When verified newer Census information becomes available, it can be added without removing the historical record.
Our Main Data Source
Our population and Census pages are designed to use official Census information and other verified demographic sources where applicable.
A key official source is the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India, Government of India.
Census 2011 data is used as an important previous official population baseline where relevant records are available.
Why Bharat Population Was Created
Population information is often spread across large Census tables and different administrative datasets. Bharat Population was created to organise this information into location-based pages that are easier to search, browse and compare.
Instead of requiring users to understand complex raw Census files, the website aims to present available information through clear population cards, administrative links, Census-year labels and structured directories.
Administrative Population Structure
Depending on the available dataset, Bharat Population may organise information using the following hierarchy:
Census 2011 and Census 2027
Census 2011 remains an important historical and official demographic reference for India. Bharat Population uses available Census 2011 records to provide previous official population information for many locations.
Census 2027 is the current Census focus of the website. Until verified 2027 population figures are available for a location, the website can clearly identify the newer Census year as awaiting data while continuing to show available previous Census information.
Future Census Updates
The Bharat Population data structure is designed to support future Census years as well. When verified Census datasets for later years become available, they can be added under their own reference year.
This makes it possible to preserve historical data while allowing users to compare the latest Census with the immediately previous official Census where comparable figures exist.
Accuracy and Corrections
We aim to present population and Census information carefully and clearly. However, administrative names, boundaries and classifications can change over time, and older Census records may reflect the administrative structure that existed during that Census year.
